Women’s State Pennants Finals – 21 March 2022
The Women’s State Pennants Finals were played at the beautiful Great Lakes area, hosted by Foster Bowling Club and Tuncurry Sporties Club. This was a wonderful chance to see some of the best bowlers battle royale to find the winners in each grade over a three days of competition.
The Kew Women’s Grade 4 played at Tuncurry Sporties. On Day 1, Kew defeated Swansea Workers, winning the Master Board 36-30 and earning 4 points. The game was played in very windy conditions and proved very challenging. On Day 2, the conditions were kinder with Kew defeating Harbord, winning the Master Board 67-18 and earning 5 points. In the afternoon session, the action started to heat up. Kew fought strongly against Ingleburn, but lost 36-38. A win would have qualified Kew a place in the semi-finals.
We are very proud of our Women’s Grade 4 players, a mighty effort from a small club. The ladies enjoyed the competition, the camaraderie and the incredible experience.
The players thanked wholeheartedly all of the supporters who travelled down during the event. A special thanks to LUSC for supplying the minibus. Extended gratitude and thanks to the Kew Mens Bowling Club for their generous assistance and support.
